VITEZ, Nov 26 (Hina) - According to data issued by ICRC and the Mother
and Child Association, there are currently 25,681 children in the Lasva
valley (central Bosnia). Over a half of those children are displaced.
Most of those children are concentrated in Novi Travnik (12,016) and
Vitez (7,400), but the local health centers are suffering shortage of
most essential medicines, especially vaccines for the youngest. Under-
nourishment has also resulted in the low level of the children's
resistance. Thus, even the newly-born infants are dying from hunger and
cold.
