CROATIAN FOREIGN MINISTER'S TALKS WITH HIS COUNTERPARTS

DEBRECEN, Nov 21 (Hina) - After his talks with Hungarian Foreign Minister Geza Jeszenszky, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Mate Granic stated yesterday in the Hungarian town of Debrecen that Croatia accepted no speculations about the future of its area of Baranja. Ministers Granic and Jeszenszky met after the Conference of the foreign ministers of the Central Europe's Initiative, held in Debrecen. Minister Granic added that he and his counterpart, Mr. Jeszenszky had held talks on the fundamental points of the Croatian politics, the situation in UNPAs and in the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as on the peace initiative of Croatian President Tudjman, which the Hungarian Foreign Minister welcomed. They also considered the economic issues and cooperation between Croatia and Hungary. The issue of establishing better traffic connections between the Croatian port of Rijeka and the Hungarian capital Budapest was given special emphasis during those talks. Minister Granic held talks with his counterpart from Slovenia, Mr. Lojze Peterle, on continuation of talks between neighbouring Slovenia and Croatia. Minister Granic met with Polish Foreign Minister as well in Debrecen yesterday. Ministers Granic and Andrzej Olechowski agreed on the visit of the Polish Foreign Minister to Croatia in the beginning of next year. Croatian Foreign Minister held meetings with his counterparts from Macedonia and B-H, Stevo Crvenkovski and Irfan Ljubijankic respectively. During his talks with Austrian Foreign Minister Alois Mock Minister Granic put emphasis on the issue of the displaced persons and refugees, while Minister Mock expressed his support to finding solution to that problem. 211319 MET nov 93
