ZAGREB, Nov 17 (Hina) - On the second anniversary of the Serbian occupation
of the Croatian town of Vukovar a commemoration entitled Vukovar - the
Deepest Croatian Wound was held today in the Mimara Museum.
Croatian Army Chief-of-Staff Gen.Janko Bobetko's message to the displaced
residents of Vukovar was: "Vukovar has become the cornerstone of our state
and a moral exam for all Croats. Preserve your dignity and be sure that I
am doing and will do all I can so that we can return to where we belong."
The participants signed an Appeal to the World for Vukovar, which says:
"Please, give us a chance to return to Vukovar, investigate the destiny of
the thousands of the disappeared, complete the examination of the mass
graves at Ovcara, Tordinci, and elsewhere. Condemn the war criminals and
help the reconstruction of the destroyed town."
