ZAGREB, Nov 15 (Hina) - In connection with a report on the eviction of the
Vjestica family, issued from a press conference at the Zagreb Police
Department on November 12, the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights
released a statement on Monday saying that Aleksandar Milosevic,
administrative secretary of the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human
Rights, was in the flat during the eviction. Aleksandar Milosevic was there
"not as a former journalist, but professionally, together with Prof.
Danijel Ivin, a member of the Committee for forcible expulsions."
The statement went on to say that the eviction of the Vjestica family had
been conducted by civil police as well as by a group of people in Croatian
Army uniforms.
"The Croatian Helsinki Committee will continue to actively oppose illegal
actions by individual members of the Croatian Army and the Defence Ministry
who abuse the war situation for achieving their private ends, contrary to
the Constitution and positive norms of the Croatian legislature," said the
statement signed by president of the Committee Ivan Zvonimir Cicak.
