CROATIAN PRESIDENT MEETS MALAYSIAN PRIME MINISTER

ZAGREB, Dec 16 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today received Malaysia's Prime Minister Mohamad Mahathir, Foreign Minister Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi and Budapest-based Ambassador Rajarama, a Presidential Office statement said. The talks focused on the reintegration of occupied Croatian territories and ways of solving the Bosnian crisis. Tudjman said Croatia would cancel UNPROFOR's mandate unless the reintegration process started promptly. Croatia would also take necessary steps to reinstate its authority in the occupied areas. He reiterated Croatian support for the implementation of the Washington accords on establishing the Croat-Moslem federation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and linking it in a confederation with Croatia. The talks also centred on the general political situation in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and peace efforts towards a negotiated settlement. Tudjman was briefed on talks between Croatian and Malaysian business delegations and the situation in Malaysia. Mahathir supported the territorial integrity of Croatia stressing that the world's countries would disintegrate if they granted their minorities a right to self-determination and secession. The officials expressed a mutual desire to boost diplomatic, economic and other relations between the two countries, which could contribute to the development of the Bosnian federation and its confederation with Croatia. The meeting also included head of the Presidential Office Hrvoje Sarinic, Foreign Minister Mate Granic and Foreign Affairs Adviser Zeljko Matic. (hina) sd vm 161652 MET dec 94
