SARAJEVO, Dec 15 (Hina) - The Bosnian Army has succeeded in driving
away Serb forces during a two day battle south of the demilitarised
area at mount Igman near Sarajevo, UNPROFOR headquarters in the
city confirmed today.
UNPROFOR spokesman Jan Dirk von Merveldt said Bosnian soldiers
and police on Tuesday and Wednesday took control of at least eight
sqare kilometers of a strategically important area near Trnovo, a
town situated on the road linking Sarajevo with east Bosnia.
To cut this road was one of the most important goals for the
Bosnian Army on the Sarajevo front.

the newly liberated territory included 20 square kms and that
Karadzic lost at least forty of his men as well as a significant
