HVO COUNTERATTACK ON LIVNO FRONT A SUCCESS

LIVNO, Dec 5 (Hina) - Serb artillery attacks on the civilian targets in the Livno municipality, southwestern Bosnia, continued today, Herzeg-Bosnian defence officials said in a report. A general alert was sounded at 11:15 hrs today in the municipality due to the Serb assaults. Serb aggressors attempted an infantry attack to retrieve the lost positions in the crisis area, but the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) soldiers repelled the assault. In the counterattack HVO inflicted new losses on the Serb troops. The clashes were still raging at the outskirts of the municipalities of Livno, Glamoc and Kupres, according to the report. The Herzeg-Bosnian Government today assessed the present actions for liberating occupied parts of the Livno municipalities to be a success.
