A BRIEF LOOK AT CROATIAN PRESS ON MONDAY

ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mate Granic yesterday received the British, German, Russian and US Ambassadors to Croatia, Gavin Hewitt, Horst Weisel, Leonid Kerestedzianc and Peter Galbraith respectively, French Charge d' Affaires Jean-Pierre Thebault, and International Conference on Former Yugoslavia Ambassadors, Geert Ahrens and Kai Eide, a front page article of today's VJESNIK says. The paper carries a front page report on the continuing fighting between the Bosnian government army and the Bosnian Serb forces headlined "Fierce fighting for Bosanska Krupa; Serbs seize UN cannons". Vjesnik brings an article on reforms in Croatian universities. The paper carries a commentary on marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Split from the fascist occupation. Today's VECERNJI LIST leads with a front page article on talks between Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic and the ambassadors of the Contact Group member states and ambassadors to the International Conference on the Former Yugoslavia.
