SARAJEVO, Oct 8 (Hina) - The airlift to Sarajevo has been again
suspended today, and representatives of the countries whose planes
participate in the airlift will decide this evening whether or not
to resume humanitarian flights tomorrow.
The airlift had to be stopped because two UN aircraft were
yesterday hit by small arms fire.
One bullet was fired from the Serb positions, and another from
the Bosnian Army posts, a military spokesman for UNPROFOR, Herve
Gourmelon, said citing results of the investigation.
Nine UNHCR planes on Friday landed at Sarajevo airport
transporting 100 tonnes of food, a half of the amount of
Sarajevans' daily needs, UNHCR spokesman Kris Janowski today said.
In the Sarajevo UNHCR storehouses there are food supplies
sufficient only for a couple of days. The city's bakery will be
able to work just next two days because it is short of flour.
The Serbs refused to give clearance for a passage a Sarajevo-
bound convoy that should have departed this morning from Metkovic,
southern Croatia, transporting food by roads.
