ZAGREB, Sep 8, (Hina)- A planned visit by refugees from Bosnia's
north western, Bihac pocket was called off today, a UNHCR
spokesperson, Alemka Lisinski, said.
"It appears that the refugees are still under the influence of
their leader, Fikret Abdic, who has been telling them not to go
home," Lisinski said.
A delegation of refugees was to have visited the Velika
Kladusa area, from which they fled after it was taken by the
Bosnian Army. The delegation was then to have reported back to
25,000 refugees in camps in Serb-held areas of neighbouring
Croatia.
The refugee delegation visit was cancelled after a series of
demands were made which included requests for an UNPROFOR escort
other than the French troops on offer.
