ZAGREB, Sep 5 (Hina) - Today's attempt of an eviction of Nevenka
Jednak from her flat in Drziceva Street 64 A in Zagreb was stopped
because conditions for carrying out of the eviction were not met,
concluded a representative of the city secretariat for building
construction and housing in a record.
Police officials and the representative of the city
secretariat came in the flat with an eviction order at 10:30 a.m.
Between 40 and 50 people were in the flat in that time and they
refused to leave, i.e. they offered 'passive resistance'.
Representatives of the UN special rapporteur for human rights
in the former Yugoslavia, Tadeusz Mazowiecki, were present in the
flat, as well as representatives of different home and foreign
agencies for human rights, representatives of political parties,
journalists, neighbours and friends of Nevenka Jednak.
There was no court injunction for the eviction, said
representatives of agencies for human rights.
