ZAGREB, July 16 (Hina) - Croatia's President Dr. Franjo Tudjman and
Turkey's President Suleyman Demirel held a joint press conference
today in the presidential residence in Zagreb.
During one-hour press conference the two presidents answered
to the foreign and Croatian journalists' questions on the five-
power contact group's peace plan for Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as
on the bilateral relations between Croatia and Turkey.
Afterwards the Croatian President held a dinner in honour the
Turkish President at which many Croatian and Turkish high officials
as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps were present.
On this occasion in the toast President Tudjman said that
Croatia attached great importance to the relations with Turkey and
stressed that diplomatic and political cooperation between the two
countries contributed to searching for a peaceful solution to the
war in B-H.
Replying to the toast Turkish President said that Turkey
supported the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity
of Croatia. He added that he would do his best in the future along
with Croatia to achieve the peace in B-H in accordance with the
contact group's peace plan for Bosnia.
