PRIMOSTEN, July 7 (Hina) - UNPROFOR must leave Croatia unless it
deploys its troops on the international borders of Croatia before
the expiration of its mandate on September 30, said a protest rally
staged by refugees from Serb-occupied territories in Primosten near
the central Adriatic coast town of Sibenik on Thursday.
The rally was attended by member of Parliament Ante Djelalija,
who supported refugees' views and said he would inform Parliament
about their decisions.
The refugees expressed indignation at the fact that a camp
site in Primosten had been leased to the Canadian UN Battalion
until 1 April 1995. They said they believed that somebody was
extending UNPROFOR's mandate on his own. They were also angered
that the UN peace-keepers had turned the camp site into a military
stronghold enclosed by barbed wire and machine-gun posts.
