FRENCH U.N. BATTALION IN BIHAC STILL UNDER BOSNIAN ARMY SIEGE

ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - The UN French Battalion is still besieged by the Bosnian Army Fifth Corps in the western Bosnian Moslem-held enclave of Bihac, a UN spokesman told reporters in Zagreb on Thursday evening. UN spokesman Michael Williams said that Moslem forces restricted the freedom of movement of French troops, thus creating a "tense situation." Bosnian Army Fifth Corps forces blocked the French UN base this morning saying they did it for their own security. The UN spokesman said the reasons for this act were not clear, adding he thought it was a misunderstanding.
