PRESIDENT TUDJMAN RECEIVES MACEDONIAN PRIME MINISTER

ZAGREB, July 6 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman received Wednesday morning Macedonian Prime Minister Branko Crvenkovski, said the Presidential office in a statement. President Tudjman informed his guest about Croatia's international-political position and relations with some countries. He concluded that the current international position of Croatia is very stable and that it gained significant international reputation, especially after the signing of the Washington agreements. A significant progress was made in the field of economy and financial and monetary policy, as well as in the development of democracy and human rights, and that was also confirmed by yesterday's visit of chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe A.M. Martinez. Croatia's major unsolved problem is the reintegration of the occupied areas (UNPAs) into the Croatian constitutional and legal system. The further delay of that issue and an extension of the UNPROFOR's mandate of this kind is unacceptable for Croatia. The situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina might be dramatic if efforts and plans of the Contact Group fail. Prime Minister Crvenkovski conveyed greetings of Macedonian President Kiro Gligorov to President Franjo Tudjman and invited him, on behalf of the Macedonian President, to visit Macedonia. President Tudjman accepted the invitation with pleasure. Afterwards, Prime Minister Crvenkovski informed his host about Macedonia's international position, its relations with neighbouring countries and the economic situation. Macedonain northern and southern borders have practically been closed and because of that Macedonia suffers considerable losses. 061548 MET jul 94
