BOSNIAN ARMY TO RETURN GUCA GORA MONASTERY TO FRANCISCANS

SARAJEVO, July 1 (Hina) - Bosnian army Chief-of-Staff Gen. Rasim Delic ordered Bosnian army troops to withdraw from a Franciscan monastery in Guca Gora by July 10 at the latest. The troops were ordered to repair any damage and secure the monastery so as to enable the return of the monks, said Gen. Delic's office in a statement on Friday. The statement said Bosnian army troops would henceforth guarantee the security of the inmates of Franciscan monasteries of Kraljeva Sutjeska and Fojnica (central Bosnia). The Guca Gora monastery was seized by the Bosnian army last fall, during a spell of heavy fighting with the Croatian Defence Council. The monks were expelled and the monastery converted into Bosnian army headquarters.
