CONFERENCE OF NON-ALIGNED COUNTRIES CONTINUES WORK

CAIRO, June 1 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, heading a Croatian delegation as an observer at a ministerial conference of non-aligned countries in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, met Wednesday morning for talks with heads of delegations of Germany, Slovakia and Romania, who are participating in the conference as guests. Granic also met UN special envoy Vladimir Petrovski. The delegations of Croatia and Bosnia, participating as a guest, proposed a joint draft text of the final document which is expected to be adopted on Friday. The draft text was distributed to representatives of Islamic and other countries which support a just resolution of the crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. Malta's Foreign Minister Guido de Marko told a press conference today that Malta supported a dialogue between Mediterranean countries in order to avoid any kind of conflict. He described a decision not to invite Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) to the conference as sensible. The conference will continue work in groups to coordinate views which would be presented in final documents. Ibrahim Rugova, political leader of ethnic Albanians in the southern Serbian province of Kosovo, sent a letter of non-alignment movement member states, informing them of the difficult position of Albanians in Kosovo and reiterating their demands for independence. 011410 MET jun 94
