OSIJEK, April 8 (Hina) - Croatian government and local Serb
authorities on Friday failed to sign a final agreement on
withdrawing their respective military forces for a thousand metres
on either side of the front line in UN Sector East. The two sides
disagreed on the issue of shifting separation lines running through
certain villages.
The UNPROFOR-sponsored talks were held for three consecutive
days at an UNPROFOR check point near the village of Sarvas in
eastern Croatia.
The Croatian army commander in the Osijek military district,
Major Djuro Decak, told reporters after three hours of talks that
the joint commission would reconvene next Tuesday.
