ZADAR, April 8 (Hina) - In most parts of UN Sector South Croatian
army troops withdrew a thousand metres from the disengagement line
by 9 a.m. Friday, according to a Russia-brokered ceasefire
agreement between the Croatian government and rebel Serb auhorities
in Zagreb on 29 March.
A spokesman for the Croatian army command in Split, Major Ivan
Zelic, told a Zadar press conference that Croatian army troops were
still pulling out of the Gospic area, in the northern part of the
Sector. He said they would have withdrawn by 4 p.m. today.
Major Zelic went on to say that UNPROFOR had set up two more
crossing points in Sector South, at Jasenice and Pakovo Selo, and
that another two would open at Zemunik and Peruca.
