ZAGREB, April 7 (Hina) - Special Representative of the UN
Secretary-General (SR SG) for the former Yugoslavia, Yasushi
Akashi, held a meeting with the special envoy of the U.S. President
for the former Yugoslavia, Charles Redman, today in the Zagreb-
based UNPROFOR Headquarters.
Upon the talks Redman stated that today's meeting was within
the established "cooperative relations" between the UN, European
Union, the U.S.A and Russia concerning the peace process in Croatia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The U.S. special envoy also said that he was leaving
tomorrow for Sarajevo where he was scheduled to hold a meeting with
the UNPROFOR Force Commander for Bosnia-Herzegovina, General
Michael Rose. Redman added that he was also expecting to meet
representatives of the Bosnian Croats in Mostar as well as to hold
talks with representatives of the Bosnian Serbs on Pale. After that
he would visit Belgrade to hold a meeting with the Serbian
president Milosevic.
The U.S. special envoy concluded that an overall solution to
the crisis in B-H "would be our goal and I hope that a step forward
will be made in the next several days, which is, of course, the
intention of the U.S.A."
