PULA, Apr 1 (Hina) - Italian ambassador to Croatia Paolo Pensa and
Italian consul Gianfranco de Luigi on Friday visited Pula, where
they talked about the status of the Italian minority with the
Prefect of the County of Istria, Luciano Delbianco.
"The status and the rights of the Italian minority have been
very well regulated by the recently adopted County Statute," Deputy
Prefect Loredana Bogliun-Debeljuh told Ambasador Pensa.
Bilingual documents and the possibility of granting Italian
citizenship to members of the Italian minority were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by MPs Furio Radin, Dino Debeljuh, Ivan
Pauletta, and the head of the town's Italian Community, Romano
Franolli.
Ambassador Pensa announced he would meet with Minister of the
Interior Ivan Jarnjak next week to discuss the Italian citizenship
issue.
