STAY OF REFUGEES IN PINETA RESORT BROUGHT INTO QUESTION

NOVIGRAD, March 15 (Hina) - Representatives of Istria's regional office for refugees informed today the refugees, accommodated in the Novigrad resort centre of Pineta that the office has not yet received official reports that may confirm the consent of the owner of the resort centre to extension of refugees' residence permit. The resort centre of Pineta is in the Slovene ownership, whereas the refugees should leave the facilities by March 31, according to an agreement signed by the Croatian and Slovene government. About one thousand and four hundred expelled Croats from Central Bosnia. Five hundred of them with children who attend secondary schools should move to the camp of Porozija in Savudrija (in Istria as well), while the rest of them should move to the restored barracks of Samogor on the Dalmatian island of Vis. 151804 MET mar 94
