OSIJEK, Mar 1 (Hina) - The Croatian Association of Displaced
persons on Tuesday sent letter to the U.N. Secretary General
Boutros Ghali, his special envoy Yasushi Akashi, commander of the
UNPROFOR in former Yugoslavia Jean Cot, American, Russian, British,
French and Italian embassy, asking them to take part on Second
conference of the Association. The conference will take place in
Zagreb on March 19 and there will be just one issue for discussion:
return of displaced persons to their homes.
The letter of Association says that all displaced persons
should be enabled to come back home "not in some vague future, but
now".
"When actual mandate of the UNPROFOR ends we will all
peacefully return to our homes, either safe or destroyed. We can
not and we don't' wish to live any more on humanitarian aid in
hotels and refugees' camps. We wont to work and rebuilt our homes",
says the letter.
