ZAGREB, March 7 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Monday received member of the Bosnian Presidency Fikret Abdic.
Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic was also present at the
talks.
The talks focused on the details of the Washington accord and
the progress of the Vienna talks of the Transitional Committee,
aimed at drafting a final agreement of the Croats and Bosniacs to
form a federation as two equal and constituent nations and to
establish confederative ties between the federation and Croatia.
The Vienna talks are expected to end by 15 March when the final
agreement would be signed.
The Croatian president reiterated the Washington agreement was
not aimed against the third party, the Serbs. According to the
agreement, the Serbs are invited to join in negotiations.
Abdic supported the Washington agreement, stressing he had
always advocated close cooperation between the Croats and Moslems,
and opposed those elements in the Moslem leadership that fanned the
Croat-Moslem conflict. He put a special emphasis on the Croatian
president's efforts aimed at including the Serb side into the
negotiations, the Presidential Office said in a statement.
