KRESIMIR ZUBAK PRESIDENT OF HR-HB PRESIDENTIAL COUNCIL

MOSTAR, Feb 17 (Hina/HABENA) - At its emergency session, held today in Mostar, the House of Representatives of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna (HR HB) accepted by voting the proposal made by Mate Boban on the appointment of the eleven-member Presidential Council of the HR HB. The Presidential Council is to assume the role of the president of the HR HB, since Mate Boban already put his presidential mandate at disposal at the emergency session in Livno on the 8th of February 1994. Kresimir Zubak, the minister of justice in the HR HB government, is elected to be the President of the Presidential Council of the HR HB. Members of the Presidential Council are Ivan Bender, Pero Markovic, Ivo Zivkovic, Branimir Huterer, Jadranko Prlic, Jozo Martinovic, Valentin Joric, Mile Akmadzic, Ante Roso, Ivo Lozancic and Vladislav Pogarcic. The Presidential Council is to adopt standing orders. The chairman of the Herzeg-Bosnian House of Representatives, Ivan Bender, said that "Mate Boban remains to be the President of the HR HB, but at this moment a new body is established- the Presidential Council which will rule over the HR HB." The newly-appointed president of that Council, Kresimir Zubak said at today's emergency session that the Croatian people was facing crucial moments, when important decision concerning the survival in Bosnia-Herzegovina should be made. He stressed that the task of this Council would be to protect the rights and the interests of the Croatian people in B-H. Zubak added that they had chosen the peace solution to the crisis in B-H and that they were determined to find a political settlement to this crisis. Zubak concluded "We must build up the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna as the state-community which will protect all the Croats in B-H." 172137 MET feb 94
