ZAGREB, Jan 7 (Hina) - UN. Force Commander Gen. Jean Cot lodged a
protest over an incident that occurred on Wednesday in Sector
South, said a statement issued by UNPROFOR spokesperson Shannon
Boyd on Thursday.
Four members of the UNPROFOR Canadian battalion, who were on a
routine control mission in the Medak pocket, were approached by
seven armed Croatian soldiers, who ordered them to put down their
weapons and follow them to the local Croatian army command, said
the statement.
Gen. Cot expects the Croatian authorities to fully investigate
the incident, punish those responsible and offer guarantees that
such incidents will not occur in the future, said the statement.
