ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - Chairman of the Croatian Parliament's Human
and Minority Rights Committee Ljubomir Antic on Tuesday forwarded a
letter to United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Tadeusz
Mazowiecki, asking him to do all he could to protect the Croat
community in central Bosnia.
Challenging the general idea that Croats were the aggressors
and Moslems the victims in the Bosnian conflict, Antic said
territory under Croatian control was getting smaller as Moslems
were taking more and more land. He quoted Ejup Ganic, a member of
the Bosnian Parliament, as saying that "Moslems were determined to
take the remaining Croat enclaves in central Bosnia one way or the
other."
Recalling that the duties Mr Mazowiecki and himself discharged
and the institutions they represented "did not allow them to be
mere observers," Antic called for protection of the Croat community
in central Bosnia.
