SARAJEVO, May 29 (Hina) - Bosnian Serbs were holding 328 U.N.
officials prisoner, UN spokesman in Sarajevo Gary Coward said and
added that another 46 Canadian UN soldiers were practically
encircled in Ilijas, north of Sarajevo.
The soldiers could not leave their base, which meant that they
too were held hostages by Bosnian Serbs, Coward said.
According to UNPROFOR reports, Serbs captured five tanks and
15 armoured vehicles from UNPROFOR officials in the last few days.
Serbs yesterday captured seven combat vehicles from UNPROFOR
officials in Gorazde.
So far Serbs have released only two Russian military observers
and let them go to the Russian UN base in the occupied Sarajevo
suburb of Grbavica.
