MISUNDERSTANDING CROPS UP BETWEEN BOSNIAN GOVT. AND UNPROFOR

SARAJEVO, May 22 (Hina) - UN Security Council is to consider this week a report by Secretary-General Boutros Boutros Ghali on the implementation of the UNPROFOR mandate, and is likely to make a final decision on changes in the future mission of UN troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a UN spokesman, Alexander Ivanko, said in Sarajevo today. In the meantime disagreement and misunderstanding are becoming deeper between UNPROFOR and the Bosnian Government. Last weekend Bosnian police arrested another three UN local workers after having refused to issue them working visas for jobs with UNPROFOR, Ivanko said. The UNPROFOR spokesman described such conduct of Bosnian authorities as a blatant violation of the agreement, which was signed by the UN and the Bosnian Government in 1992 and which provided for immunity of all UNPROFOR workers. Ivanko recalled that another four civilians, who had worked for UN in Sarajevo, were already in prison. Six arrested persons are of Serb nationality and one person is a Moslem. Some of them are accused of spying. Most of those workers worked as translators. Ivanko announced that Yasushi Akashi was going to lodge a protest with President Alija Izetbegovic because of such conduct. Two workers of the humanitarian agency called 'Al-Haramain' disappeared in Bosnia last week, UNPROFOR headquarters in Sarajevo said. Dr. Mohammed Katae and Mohammed Zaitune departed from Zenica for Zagreb on Thursday via Split. Since they left this central Bosnian city their whereabouts have been unknown.
