HERZEG-BOSNIA'S OFFICIAL ON COOPERATION WITH THE HAGUE TRIBUNAL

MOSTAR, May 16 (Hina) - "We have delivered 1,182 documents to The Hague Tribunal so far, about the crimes committed by both Serb and Moslem troops over Croatian people" the head of Herzeg-Bosnia's Commission for War Crimes, Marinko Skobic, told the press- conference today in Mostar. Herzeg-Bosnia is a part of Bosnia-Herzegovina under Bosnian Croat (HVO) control. It has a separate, though temporary governmental structure, subject to merge into the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina once the negotiations on its establishment are over. The Commission had investigated the crimes committed in the southern Bosnian areas of Mostar, Jablanica, Rama and Konjic, Skobic said, while the investigation in the central Bosnia and the Lasva river valley cases was in progress. But, the worst abuses that Croat civilians, and Catholic clergy, have been suffering in the Serb-held Banja Luka region, were out of investigation's range. "Here we are limited only to testimonies of the refugees from the area," Skobic said. Becuase the investigation handled mostly the abuses committed by Muslim-led Bosnian army during the 1993 Croats vs. Muslims all- out war, Skobic stressed there were no "political out-of-court deals" with Muslims about "putting some cases aside". "No one could have the right to disrespect the victims," Skobic said. "Our cooperation with the Hague International Tribunal has been beyond dispute so far. We are ready to cede to them all the documentation about the crimes committed over Croatian people in Bosnia-Herzegovina," Skobic said. (Hina) jn bk 161854 MET may 95
