ZAGREB, May 16 (Hina) - Three Croatian policemen were killed early
this morning by a man who was caught in the act of breaking into a
kiosk in Pakostani, near the central-Adriatic town of Zadar.
The suspect, Pero Cudina, aged 23, was arrested a few hours
later, after the police sealed off the entire area.
Two officers surprised Cudina in flagranti, whereupon he
shot them dead and fled, killing a third policeman on the road.
Cudina is well known to the police, having figured as a
suspect in several theft cases and the murder of his own father
seven years ago.
Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak arrived in Zadar this
afternoon.
