PAKRAC, May 13 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak,
accompanied by his aide for special police, Mladen Markac, toured
newly-liberated areas of western Slavonia and positions on Mount
Psunj on Saturday.
Minister Jarnjak visited special police units in Ivanovac, and
on Omanovac, the highest point in the Pakrac area. He also visited
Bijela Stijena and a strip of the Pakrac-Pozega road, which was
exposed to Serb terrorist attacks until the liberation.
Minister Jarnjak also met special troops who are clearing
mines and other explosive devices in the area, and he toured arms
depots, held by Serb rebels until recently.
Minister Jarnjak talked with commanders of the special police
units that had participated in the limited action called 'Flash',
and congratulated them on this successfully finished operation of
liberating western Slavonia. The Minister said he was proud to be
on the head of such forces.
The Interior Minister said he had known that Croatian special
police troops were ready and trained to carry out all kinds of
task. The action in western Slavonia showed to the world that
Croatia had not only very well organized army but also police
forces, according to him.
