NO PROGRESS ACHIEVED IN TALKS ON POWS EXCHANGE

SARAJEVO, April 12 (Hina) - The International Red Cross representatives in Bosnia-Herzegovina were dissapointed at a standstill in negotiations on the exchange of war prisoners and information on persons missing in the three-year war. The Red Cross spokesperson in Sarajevo, Nina Winquist, said that yesterday's talks at the Sarajevo airport between representatives of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), Bosnian army and Bosnian Serbs on the measures which would speed up the exchange of prisoners, bodies of killed soldiers and information on missing persons did not bring any progress. The Red Cross representatives asked Serbs to allow them to visit foreigners detained in Serb prisons around Sarajevo. A special permission was asked to visit four Frenchmen and an American who worked for the organization "Pharmaciens sans Frontieres" and had been detained by Bosnian Serbs and charged with "collaboration" with the Bosnian army. The representatives were given a permission to visit the prisoners, but Serbs refused to specify the exact date. Besides these five, two Swiss and a German are held prisoner by Bosnian Serbs.
