ZAGREB, April 3 (Hina) - The general manager of the Croatian oil
company INA, Franjo Greguric, has announced his resignation in
early May.
"This decision is exclusively mine and I'm announcing it in
agreement with INA's owner, the Croatian government," Greguric told
a press conference in Zagreb today.
He described media reports that he would be removed from his
position, as "a fruit of political struggles."
"I'll continue to discharge all of my political duties in the
HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union)", Greguric said, adding that in
agreement with President of the Republic Franjo Tudjman he would
continue to volunteer as his chief adviser on economic affairs.
"I think INA has taken a big step in stabilizing the Croatian
economy," he said, stressing the need for INA to be restructured,
as already decided by the government.
