CROATIAN PRESIDENT TUDJMAN RECEIVES NORWEGIAN FOREIGN MINISTER

ZAGREB, March 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, today received the Norwegian Foreign Minister Bjorn Tore Godal, in the Presidential Palace in Zagreb, according to a statement from the President's office. Also present at the reception were: Croatian Foreign Minister, Mate Granic, the President's foreign policy adviser, Zeljko Matic, the director of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry political administration, Johan Ludvik Lovald, Croatia's ambassador to Denmark, Norway and Iceland, Duro Dezelic, who is based in Copenhagen, the Norwegian ambassador to Croatia, Bjorn Frode Ostern, a Norwegian Foreign Ministry official for humanitarian issues, Vegard Ellefsen, and Croatian minister-adviser in Norway, Ivan Poljac. President Tudjman welcomed further extended relations between Croatia and Norway and urged better cooperation and friendship. There were words on the decision to end the UNPROFOR mandate and on the new international forces in Croatia. President Tudjman emphasized that Croatia wanted a peaceful resolution, for which it was necessary to have the decisive support of the international community, particularly its persistence in maintaining sanctions against the so-called Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) as long as Belgrade continued with its occupation. There were words on the efforts of the Contact Group and on the possibilities of a peaceful resolution in Bosnia-Hercegovina.
