COMMITTEE FOR BLEIBURGH VICTIMS APPOINTED

ZAGREB, March 22 (Hina) - The Croatian House of Representative committee for electing, appointing and administrative affairs today decided to appoint the head and members of the Committee of the 50th anniversary of the Bleiburgh victims. On May 15, 1945, the Former Yugoslav army (the so-called JNA), killed dozens of thousand civilians and soldiers of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) at Bleiburgh, Austria, and on the way from Zagreb to Austria, while the victims were fleeing to the West. Parliamentary Speaker Nedjeljko Mihanovic was appointed as the chairman of the committee which consists of 120 members. Sixtyfive of the committee members are parliamentary deputies, mostly members of the committee for victims of the World War II and post-war period. The other members are government officials, representatives of the non-governmental agencies and prominent public personalities. (hina) jn rv mms 221839 MET mar 95
