ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK carries international
reactions to the Croatian-Bosnian military alliance, in a front-
page article headlined "Agreement to Make the Serbs Listen to
Reason."
"The Paris media assume that the agreement is aimed at
strengthening the anti-Serb coalition; Ankara believes that the
agreement will soon produce an effect; Italian comments are
redolent of possimism. The Sarajevo-based Oslobodjenje says that
after the Zagreb agreement, the Serbs are no longer the strongest
military force in Bosnia and Croatia," the article says.
VJESNIK carries a stop-press notice by the Banja Luka-based
Beta agency, which says that Serb military sources have admitted
that HVO (Croatian Defence Council) troops recently drove Serbs
away from Troglav peak on Mt Dinara. This peak, situated close to
the Croatian border, is an extremely strategic point beause it
overlooks Knin.
Today's VECERNJI LIST extensively covers Croat-Bosnian talks
in Petersburg near Bonn, Germany.
The paper quotes the Bosnian Federation President, Kresimir
Zubak, who believes there is "political will on both sides to
resolve all problems" and hopes soon to reach full agreement with
Federation Vice-President, Ejup Ganic.
The paper also carries an interview with President Tudjman's
special envoy, Bosiljko Misetic, who has just returned from Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
"Life's hard everywhere, and particular for Croats in Kakanj
and Vares (central Bosnia)," Misetic said.
