TUZLA, Feb 24 (Hina) - The Bosnian government-controlled town of
Tuzla was put on general alert shortly before 9 pm yesterday as
several artillery shells hit the town's outskirts.
It was the first time alert sirens sounded in the town in
northwestern Bosnia since the ceasefire agreement took effect three
months ago, the Bosnian Croat news agency HABENA said today.
Bosnian Serb forces fired five artillery shells on the town's
fringes - two from their positions on Mount Majevica while the
other three came from the direction of Osmaci near Kalesija, HABENA
said.
