ZAGREB, Feb 14 (Hina) - Members of the FIAS (Foreign Investment
Advising Service) task group today told reporters about the results
of their two-day visit to Zagreb.
FIAS is acting as a consulting service to the World Bank.
At a meeting with Croatian Government, Chamber of Commerce and
National Bank representatives yesterday, the task group proposed
the establishment of a Croatian Investment Promotion Agency, FIAS
manager Boris Velic said.
"The purpose of the Agency would be to enable foreign
investors to deal with only one agency from the beginning to the
end of their business in Croatia," Velic said.
FIAS Task Group member Joseph Battat expressed satisfaction
with talks today with Government Minister Zlatko Matesa.
Matesa said that the Government would consider writing a
letter of intent on its foreign investment policy, Battat said.
The Agency would not be a Government institution but would be
financed from the national budget. It would be managed by a
steering committee.
