GRANIC & ASSOCIATES MEET EU COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE

ZAGREB, Jan 27 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic and Minister in the Government Adalbert Rebic this afternoon met Emma Bonino, European Commission official in charge of humanitarian issues. "The European Union humanitarian program will continue," Granic told reporters after the talks. "The European Union is ready to buy locally all the food it needs for the humanitarian program." "The ending of the UNPROFOR mandate surely won't be an obstacle to Croatia's cooperation with the EU on the humanitarian level," Granic said, answering reporters' questions. "As for admitting Croatia in the European integration processes, there will probably be some pressures," he cautioned. Bonino, who arrived in Zagreb this morning, said the goal of her visit was to see "on the ground" the effects of the aid granted to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. She planned to go to Mostar "to try and overcome the difficulties hampering the realisation of the EU project." The Croatian officials fully realised the importance of that project, she said. Also present was EU Humanitarian Aid Chief Francisco Martinez- Esparza. (hina) jn as 272141 MET jan 95
