MOSTAR, Jan 12 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's leading Moslem and
Croat political parties today failed to reach agreement on Kresimir
Zubak's remaining the president of the Bosnia-Herzegovina
Federation.
Croatian Democratic Party (HDZ-BiH) president Dario Kordic
described the current situation of establishing the federation as a
period of transition.
He said the HDZ wanted Zubak to remain the Federation
president but the Moslem-led Democratic Action Party (SDA) opposed
it.
HDZ and SDA leaders as well as Federation officials were to
meet on January 16, before a session of the Federation's
Constitutional Assembly, to discuss key Federation posts, Kordic
said.
Kordic added that the ambassadors of the United States,
Germany and Turkey were expected to attend the session.
Despite disagreements, Kordic and SDA vice president Ethem
Bicakcic described today's talks as tolerant and successful.
