SPLIT, Jan 6 (Hina) - Knin Serb leader Milan Babic again failed to
appear at talks with Croatian government negotiators on the
implementation of the Dec 2 Economic Agreement today.
The meeting was scheduled to take place in Divulje near Split
yesterday, but was postponed after it became clear that Babic was
not going to appear.
After several phone calls to Babic last evening, UNPROFOR made
yet another attempt today at noon, sending a helicopter to Knin to
pick Babic up and bring him to Divulje.
But the copter returned empty an hour and a half later.
An UNPROFOR officer unofficially told HINA correspondent that
Babic had personally refused to come, offering to send one of his
associates.
