ZAGREB, Dec 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman
received a delegation of the National Bank of Croatia (NBH) on
Friday on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of Croatia's
monetary independence, the President's Office said in a
statement.
NBH Governor Marko Skreb informed the President about the
forthcoming introduction of the national currency kuna in the UN-
administered Danube river region of eastern Croatia.
Skreb and the former NBH Governor, Pero Jurkovic, briefed
the President on a plan for the rehabilitation of banks and on
the monetary and financial situation in the country.
They described as stimulating the recent presentation of the
eurokuna, a Croatian bond with guaranteed annual interest of 12.5
percent, payable in two years.
The talks were also attended by the President's Internal
Affairs Advisor, Ivic Pasalic, and Economic Affairs Advisor Darko
Grguric, the statement concluded.
