ZAGREB, Dec 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) Council on Monday's session adopted a draft programme policy of the Croatian Radio and Croatian Television (HTV) for the year 1997.

Council on Monday's session adopted a draft programme policy of the
Croatian Radio and Croatian Television (HTV) for the year 1997. #L#
HTV Editor-in-Chief Hloverka Novak-Srzic said that first
programme would remain national, focusing on domestic issues, the
second programme would be of a lighter, entertainment-based content
with more international productions, while the third would mainly
focus on sports and regional programmes.
"The HTV informative programmes for 1997 will operate on key
directions of the Croatian state policy as established by the
Parliament and the President.
Thus, topics especially covered will be the peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area, the consolidation of
the Bosnian Federation, Croatia in the Council of Europe and the
development of Croatian economy," Srzic said.
Stressing that HTV's priority was to expand domestic
production, she said that HTV would produce 6 dramas, three films
and several series in 1997.
As regards the radio programme, Editor-in-Chief Ivanka Lucev,
stressed that the first programme would focus on national topics,
the second programme would be transformed from documentary to
entertainment, music and sports programmes.
The third programme would continue to promote national
culture, she said.
