WASHINGTON, Nov 23 (Hina) - US State Department spokesman Glyn
Davies at Friday's news conference answered questions regarding the
concession of Radio 101. #L#
Davies reiterated the stance expressed in the last State
Department's statement that Radio 101 should be granted a permanent
broadcasting permit.
He described the decision of the Croatian Council for
Telecommunications to postpone taking away Radio 101's concession
as s step in the right direction, but not sufficient.
They should be given a permit and enable them to broadcast
permanently, Davies said, adding that the US Administration would
not be satisfied with a solution by which their permit would have
to be renewed each month.
Asked whether the case of Radio 101 could have effect on
relations between Croatia and the United States, Davies said that
it could, very much so, not wanting to say precisely in which way.
