"It is a known fact to you that the failure to unload the
"American Condor" ship with weapons intended for the Bosnian
Federation army has been associated with the removal of duties of
the Bosnian Federation Deputy Defense Minister, Hasan Cengic.
Although I was not officially informed, nor were the reasons
presented to me, my name has been connected to the case in the past
few days," Soljic said in his letter.
Soljic added that in the present circumstances, he neither
wished nor was able to normally perform the duty of Bosnian
Federation Defense Minister, so he submitted an irrevocable
resignation to the post.
"I wish to state that I respect highly the role of the United
States in achieving peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in breathing
life into the Bosnian Federation, which I support fully and
undoubtedly. I regard any objection to this statement in any
circumstance, including this one, as an untrue and malicious
misinformation," the letter said.
