CROATIA'S BORDER POLICE INTRODUCE CAVALRY

HRVATSKA KOSTAJNICA, Oct 29 (Hina) - A Croatian-Bosnian border section will be patrolled by Croatia's border cavalry units as of October 29. Stations of the Croatian border cavalry first unit were officially opened in Vanici and Rosulje, in the Sisak area, some 80 kilometres southeast of Zagreb. The cavalry unit will patrol a hardly passable area along the 196 kilometre-long border section between Croatia and Bosnia- Herzegovina, a Croatian police official Ante Soljic said on Tuesday. He added that the cavalry unit had been trained in Hungary several months. He said Croatia was developing safe and efficient control of the border along the Una river. Besides the cavalry, infantry troops and motorized patrols were controlling that section of the border. (hina) jn mš 292115 MET oct 96
