The Veterans' Association delegation stressed that their goal
was to see the Croatian Danubian area reintegrated into the
Croatian constitutional and legal system as soon as possible.
They especially stressed the need to sustain the dignity of
Croatia's suffering and the punishment of war criminals as a
precondition for ending the process of peaceful reintegration.
The Association's representatives informed General Klein,
Slobodan Land and Vesna Skare Ozbolt about a commemoration for all
victims during the defense of Vukovar, which is to take place in
Djakovo (eastern Croatia) on November 18, and called Klein and
Croatian authority representatives to mark that day outside of
Vukovar for the last time.
Klein expressed his conviction that Croatian authority would
be in Vukovar and the whole Danubian area as early as next summer.
