BUDAPEST, Nov 15 (Hina) - Croatia's Minister of maritime affairs,
transport and communications, Zeljko Luzavec, Friday held talks
with his Hungarian counterpart Karoly Lotz, on traffic connections
between the two countries.
After the talks, Croatia's Luzavec said they had agreed on
signing a treaty on combined transport next week in the Hungarian
capital.
An agreement was being prepared on a location where the
Hungarian motorway Budapest-Leteny section and the Croatian
motorway Rijeka-Zagreb-Gorican section can be linked at Croatian-
Hungarian border. This agreement was very important, as the Rijeka-
Zagreb-Budapest motorway is part of the Baltic-Adriatic road
direction, according to Luzavec.
The two ministers agreed on restoring soon train services
between the Hungarian border and the Croatian town of Beli Manastir
in Baranja (still under the UN transitional administration), as
both Croatian and Hungarian sides are ready to reopen the railway
road in question. It is expected only from the U.N. Transitional
Administrator Jacques Klein to ensure conditions for unimpeded
traffic.
Besides Minister Luzavec, his assistant for train traffic
Dragutin Subat and the secretary of the Ministry of maritime
affairs, transport and communications, Mijo Petek attended that
talks.
