SARAJEVO, 6 Nov (Hina) - Members of the International
Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia seized yesterday a larger
amount of weapons and ammunition from the Bosnian Serb army, after
they discovered that the Serbs were carrying out military exercises
without necessary permits.
IFOR spokesman Bratt Boudreau stated in Sarajevo Wednesday
that the incident happened near the village of Vrbanja, northern
Bosnia. NATO soldiers seized infantry and anti-tank weapons from
the Serbs.
While it was flying over Kljuc yesterday (northern Bosnia,
under Muslim control) on one of its regular patrols, an IFOR
helicopter spotted several residential buildings on fire. The
helicopter crew established afterwards that the buildings were in a
village which had formerly been inhabited by Serbs.
The crew spotted a vehicle travelling through the village and
followed it to Kljuc. Canadian IFOR soldiers visited Kljuc and
established that the five men who had been travelling in the car
were Bosniac police officers.
At IFOR's request, international police members on Wednesday
left for Kljuc in order to carry out an investigation into the
burning of the houses and establish what the five police officers
were doing in the village.
